Zeke was born in 12/1997, he is 55-lbs, tail docked, dews off, loves car rides, water and is a fetching fanatic. He is described as good with children of all ages and other dogs. He is not good with cats. Zeke was professionally field trained and is not gun shy but he hates thunderstorms and needs a safe place to hide during storms. Jake and Zeke came into rescue as victims of divorce. Both boys are indoor dogs, house trained, crate trained and masters of cuddling. Zeke jumped a fence about a year ago and has been limping on a back leg. When our vets assessed him it was clear he had torn off his kneecap and it was sitting on the side of his leg so he could not bear weight on his leg. Zeke has three wonderful sources of funding to thank for the $2000 surgery. The Sandford Memorial Fund, the Vizsla Rescue Fund, and the Vizsla Club of America Welfare Foundation. In addition, our foster situation was such that these boys stayed at a boarding kennel for a couple of weeks until we were able to get them into our homes. Thanks to Phylene at Ellie's Pet Hotel in Brigham City UT.
Sept 2006: Zeke found a loving home with Pam & Mike. Their home was feeling a bit empty after the loss of several of their Vizsla in a short period of time. They had experience with thunder phobia and wanted a male in their lives. Zeke, in true V style charmed all he has met including his miracle driver. Sheryl was making a trip from UT to IL and so Zeke got to catch a ride to meet his new family from OH, riding in style with another V and in an big truck with plush cab designed for dogs! Take good care of Zeke the master of the living room chair, and thank you so much for taking on an older dog who has more love to give in a short period of time that we can imagine.
Jun 2011: Zeke passed away in February 2007 from complications of osteosarcoma. See Pam's tribute to Zeke at the Rainbow Bridge.
