Origonal story, Jun 2014: Prayers for Stella. Stella came into foster care a few weeks ago when her owner of 12+ years declined to reclaim her from the temporary situation she had been left in for almost a year. At 13 yrs she has some lameness in her back end and needed a dental and a safe place to spend her retirement years. Shortly after arriving at her foster home she took herself on a long distance jaunt we can only assume was an effort to return to her previous home as she was pretty confused with all the changes in her life. Thankfully she was found several miles away in a remote area and, once safely back home, she relaxed into her new home and was enjoying life with her new pack. Monday night she collapsed with weakness and had surgery Tuesday to remove a mass that was causing internal bleeding. We welcome your prayers as she recovers at a Portland area surgery center.

Sep 2014: Stella is doing well after surgery to remove her spleen. The mass turned out to be benign so, other than normal senior dog issues, Stella is thriving and loving her new lease on life. Thank you Cookie for your determination to see her through this and to all who helped with donations.
