RUGBY RED is a 3-yr old neutered male mixed breed (of what we really don't know but perhaps amstaff or bulldog & maybe ridgie, chessie, vizsla or lab) in Boise ID. What we do know is he has a great disposition and wonderful house manners. He is about 60-lbs with a short, sleek coat. Rugby's owners moved and left him with family but they didn't have a fence and when he got picked up by animal control they wouldn't pay his bail. He will sit, stay, come and he absolutely loves to ride!! He wants to chase cats but is good with horses and all people. He has good off leash recall, does not jump up, housebroken, crate trained, sleeps on a pillow next to the bed, not a barker and was wonderful with the kids at a T-ball game he went to. He lived with another altered male dog and seems to have zero issues (except that he likes to go for rides and will jump in anybody's truck!). If you are looking for a fantastic, strong, friendly guy, Rugby might just be your man!

Jun 2003: Rugby's family found him in early June. Sarah & Brian were finishing up building their house and knew the perfect way to make it a home was to add a dog. There were some discussion about labs, vizslas and even some pit mixes at local shelters so Rugby seemed like a perfect fit. Already housetrained, a good traveler and an easy dog to take along just about anywhere whether to the office or visiting friends. In early June Brian & Sarah and Penny & Frank & Rugby met in the high desert town of Burns OR so Rugby could check them out and make sure he approved of his new rig. Yep, sailed right into the back seat and snuggled in for the long ride home. He has a new name of Dayton to start off his new life and early reports are that he is a swimmer (good thing since fishing is high on their list of favorite activites) and a pretty social guy. Take care of your new family Dayton... and don't press your luck on the couch!
