At about 10 am on 2/13 I got a call about a 8-9 yo female that needed to be re-home due to a divorce and the fact that she could not "hold it" for 10+ hours in the house any longer. Roxy from all other aspects was reported to be a wonderful loving dog with kids and the whole family. I told the family I would take her but I needed a few days to work out a foster home. At about 2 pm the same day I got an email from Janet asking if we had any older V's available for adoption, a female preferred, as she has recently lost her companion for 14.5 years to cancer. Janet has had V's for 30 years and Roxy sounded perfect to her. So Janet and the family got on the phone and made arrangements for Janet to drive down from ID to adopt Roxy on 2/15. She went right to her forever home, skipping foster care!!! Janet has a home where Roxy can be on a tile area if she needs to go but Janet also goes home for lunch to spend time with her V baby. We just can't imagine that this could have worked out any smoother for Janet and Roxy! Thanks for having a soft spot for an older V girl who needs you more than you know.

March 2004: Roxy got a new buddy this spring when Janet also adopted Shasta.
