Lady Jane was born in October 1999, AKC but never registered, tail docked, dews off, spayed, up to date on shots. She needs a new home as she lives on 1 1/2 acres but owners were just transferred to San Francisco. They have 4 dogs and the new yard is only about 10 feet wide. They feel it would be cruel to keep her in such an environment. Lady is the top dog in her pack of 4 female dogs so would be best as an only dog or as a buddy to a male. She is housetrained and sleeps on a doggie pillow unless you let her sleep on the bed. She is not crate trained and stays in the barn with the other dogs when no one is home. She was raised with two house cats. Knows: Come, out, sit. No, OK. Won’t take food unless given an OK. Well almost -- she will counter surf for bread. Loves tennis balls.

Lady Jane flew to Canada in July and Jim reports that she is a perfect match, equally loved by the whole family. She has been boating, hiking, chasing birds in the lake, and on long car rides all over the place. And a great story also happened when a long time friend of Jim's called and invited him to dinner in Vancouver. While chatting the friend told him that he had just adopted a dog, he was sure Jim had never heard of the breed. Jim asked what breed and as it turns out his friend had just adopted Buddy, a rescue Vizsla from Katie in WA!! So best human friends now have twin dog breeds and both rescue dogs have found great homes. See we are not such a rare breed -- but Lady, Jim tells me, was a rare find :) Thanks much to the Woodbury family for giving her such a great start in life.

Nov 2006: We are sad to report that Lady Jane passed away this month at just 6-yrs old.... much too young. Visit the Rainbow Bridge.
