The Kansas Seven were born August 25, 2003 and came to UT via a long car trip from KS. These littermates were the product of an intentional breeding between a chocolate lab mom and a Vizsla dad. The folks were sure their friends and neighbors would flock to adopt these dogs but that did not happen. Special thanks to Polly & Lee in KS for driving to get these kids and then fostering them for a week.

Bio: Deidra's littermates have all been adopted but since she is the one who most looks like a yellow lab in color and black eyes and nose, she has not found her perfect home. She is doing well on house manners, is crate trained, has a natural tail and dews still on. Deidra does great with big dogs and she thinks she is one of them. She calms down will in the house and her favorite toy is a stuffed duck, a nylabone, or a stick. She plays fetch with tennis balls and chases the broom with glee. Deidra has the potential to be a digger in the yard -- we are sure that is the lab genes :) All of the other families who have adopted her brothers and sisters all claim to have the best puppy in the world and the v/lab does seem to tone down some of the high octane of the vizsla puppies we have raised. Deidra currently sleeps in her crate in the house but is a great couch snuggle pal for movies and TV.

Deidre has a new home and a new name. She is little sister to Steiner who thinks she's a keeper.... more to come
