Original story: Juliette is an 8-yr old female who was owner surrended to a shelter when her family could no longer keep her. She has been well cared for and is a very healthy 8-yr old. She is friendly with all people, great car traveler, comes to call, good on a leash, not a barker, great with other dogs (no cats!), crate trained and has impeccable house manners (think Lassie in a vizsla coat). She also knows sit, down, wait and does high-5 with either paw. She loves meeting children but we don't know how she would do living with them and she has not been evaluated for hunting. Juliette is looking for an active home where she can be your hiking/running buddy by day and snuggle buddy at night. She would also love to have a dog buddy as a playmate as she loves to trade toys and play with other dogs but she could go either way on this... as long as she has you and plenty of toys. Juliette is also calm enough to be a "store dog" and she often accompanies her foster mom to her office.

Nov 7, 2010: If you think an 8-yr old vizsla is too old to play with your youngster, check out this video of Juliette & Zoe playing tug-o-war on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
Juliette, Zoe & the baby dragon (Note: Juliette highly recommends the Chew Guard toys from Go Dog. They are not indestructible but they last longer than most plush toys we've found and you can see they are useful even after the squeaker & stuffing are gone!)

Dec 2010: Juliette dodged snow storms and road closures over Thanksgiving weekend to get to her new home in sunny Arizona where she will be playmate extraordinaire to Baxter and running partner to Shane & Krista. Seven yr old Baxter couldn't wait for his new V sister to arrive and, not being one to disappoint, Juliette didn't waste much time getting down to business... the business of play that is. She's learning quickly about trail running and it's pretty clear everyone is in agreement this is where she was meant to be. Unlike the "snowbirds" who routinely return to WA & ID in the spring, we are sure Juliette will opt to stay in Arizona. She didn't seem to mind the cold in WA & ID but she will love the warm Arizona sunshine.
