Jake was born 7/1998, is a bit overweight at 65-lbs, tail docked, dews off, loves car rides, water, loves to play with balls, and play "find the bird". He is described as good with children of all ages and other dogs. He is not good with cats. Jake is described as a reasonable hunter despite being mildly gun shy. Jake and Zeke came into rescue as victims of divorce. Both boys are indoor dogs, house trained, crate trained and masters of cuddling. Our foster situation was such that these boys stayed at a boarding kennel for a couple of weeks until we were able to them into our homes. Thanks to Phylene at Ellie's Pet Hotel in Brigham City UT.

Sept 2006: Jake was fostered by Jack, Rossalyn and Spice. He bonded very well with Jack and Spice has decided it is not too awful to have a V brother in the house even if he does vie for attention. Jake watches TV and barks at birds or animals so instead of TV he takes him humans on nightly walks to the school yard or to a big field where he can run with Spice. Jake also got to go on a hunting trip and he is gun shy but that is something that can be worked with over time. Jake is already trimming down with all the new exercise. His new mom wrote and told me that I could stop thinking of new homes for him -- "Sorry, he is our dog and that is that!!!" So Jake is going to stay in UT and show everyone he meets, what fun a wiggly piggly V can be.

Jun 2011: Jake passed in July of 2010 after a brief battle with cancer. Jake loved having Spice for a sister and had a grand and full life with the Richards family. Visit Jake at The Bridge.
