Huckleberry or Huck, formerly known as "black", came to UT/ID rescue along with 4 of his brothers when a local breeder was unable to sell them. He was born 6/19/02 to an AKC mom and dad. Huck's dad and his friend Sam made a 24 hour puppy run (and side trip to the NV casinos) to get Huck. They also brought home a Salt Lake City cat that had gotten away from his mom while visiting in Boise. Huck was a great traveler and got to sit in the cab seat and look out the windows and sleep. Huck enjoys playing with his two new humans kids and also loves the fact that his new mom stays at home -- he is quite sure it is just for him. We selected Huck for the family as he is a fetching fool and has a good nose. Pete hopes to put those skills to good use and hunt with him. We hope to have a happy hunter report by this time next year!

February 2005: Tragedy struck this year when Huck got out into traffic and was killed by a car. Visit Huck on the Rainbow Bridge page.

Other pups from this litter are
