Duke came into rescue as a beloved member of a local family. He was born 9/5/03 and is a littermate to Rudi, Lizzie and Oliver who we also placed via rescue. Duke was well socialized, crate trained and well on his way to being housetrained. His family had a hard time letting him go but the wife was very allergic to him. They felt he needed the life in the house and with his humans that they could not give him. With the help of Beryl and Kate in WA, Duke found a home where he gets to be the center of attention, sleep in the bed with his dad, and go to work quite a few days of the week. He will get to hunt and go on long runs with his triathlete dad as he gets older. Jason has re-named his new buddy "Flash" and I am quite sure that he is living up to that name. Jason will have a great mentor in Auntie Beryl and we hope to get photos of Flash next year standing over his catch of birds or beating dad across the finish line!

Apr 2012: We received news that Flash passed after a several month battle with hemangiosarcoma that attached to his heart and spleen. Visit Flash at The Bridge.
