On April 5, 2000 I saw an ad in the local paper for a 6 yo male for $100 with AKC papers. I called to talk about the dog and ask the circumstances. Familiar story, son bought the dog and then married and moved to apartment where he can't keep the dog. When I asked his name I also got a familiar reply of Copper. I told them that VCA rescue does not buy dogs but that should he not get a buyer to please not take him to the pound but call me. On May 1 I got a call asking me to foster and place Copper. I posted to the Vizsla Talk list to see if there were any folks interested in Copper and got a referral from Megan Tallman. I spoke with Sally & John and we soon made arrangements for Copper to hop on a plane on May 13, 2000 to go live in St. Louis, MO. Copper is happily romping in their acre yard in the city, playing on the 500 acre family farm, wrestling with his Lab buddy, and choosing which of three daughters in the family to sleep with.
