ZIGGY - story coming

Ziggy was born June 5, 2000. He was from AKC parents but the family has lost all papers. He was given up to rescue due to his high energy and their inability to provide him attention. Ziggy is 100% active in the yard, barely ever stopping while hunting birds, bees, flies or anything that moves. He is 100% couch potato and wants to be in your lap and face in the house. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate. He is neutered, up to date on shots, micro chipped, tail docked, dews off. He spent most of his time in the backyard and was around 2 young children. He gets excited to play and would knock them down at times but is not aggressive. Ziggy gets along well with other dogs and is fine with my 2 males. He loves to run and play with tennis balls, footballs, sticks, anything will do. He has not been around cats. He is shy at first contact and will move away from hands that grab for him but will be in your face shortly. The family wants you to know: WE ARE PUTTING HIM UP FOR ADOPTION BECAUSE WE HAVE FAILED AS DOG OWNERS NOT BECAUSE HE IS A BAD DOG. I KNOW THAT HE WILL BE AN EXCELLENT DOG TO THE RIGHT OWNERS. Ziggy has been a gem at our house, no digging in the yard, no destructive chewing, no food aggression, but he does need training on manners, leash work, and coming to call so that he can be off leash. He will sit for treats.
