WOODY

Original story: Woody is an approx 2-1/2 yr old weim/vizsla or weim/shorthair mix who originally came from a Utah shelter and was released to rescue by his 3rd home because he is gun-shy. We are still getting to know Woody but initial assessment is that he can be timid about new situations but warms up quickly and is good with kids (although rambunctious), dogs and cats. Woody is a big boy at 75-lbs but think of that as 75-lbs of snuggle power! Woody hopes his next home will be the one that lasts forever. Update: We're not sure where we dreamed up that "timid" part because Woody is not showing any signs of it now! He is making himself at home with the weimies in his foster home and gets along wonderfully with both males and females.

Update: Four must be Woody's lucky number because home #4 is the one he was waiting for... one full of trust and love and a pretty smart kid to boot! Caitlinn knew the first time she saw his picture on the internet that he was going to be her dog and no amount of talking could convince her to consider another. She stood firm when foster mom, June, went to meet them with some other nice adoptable weims and we're glad the family stood by him too while he adjusted to one more big change in his life. Ellie reports he has learned to stay on the property, comes to call (usually) and he gets along great with the kids, cats, and goats. We are as happy as Woody is that somebody finally recognized he's supposed to be a lap dog!
