Sage is a nearly 4-yr old male (b. 8/13/2002) from a breeder in northwest Montana. He is a big vizsla at 26-inches, 75-lbs, dew claws are on. He is a major leaner and his favorite place to stand also happens to be between your legs! He grew up on a ranch with horses, another dog and cats but was released to rescue after a divorce and a move to town where there was no fenced yard. He can be vocal when meeting new dogs but he seems to get along with everyone and doesn't have a clue he is almost twice the size of the other Vs. He is good with cats and other dogs, small children make him nervous but he has been around older kids. He has not been hunted but does not appear to be noise shy. Comes to call and stays close on a trail.
Update: Sage spent a couple of weeks in foster care and found his forever home with Fred and Marie in WA. Having been dogless for two years they decided the time was again right for a dog and for a vizsla in particular. They had a vizsla previously so knew what to expect and Sage's big goofy looks with personality to match was simply irresistible. They are working with a trainer to improve his meet and greet skills with other dogs and Sage is loving his new home with fenced acreage, horses next door and Mom & Dad to spoil him. Enjoy your big lap dog!
Feb 2008, Marlou writes: Sage loves his coat as much as we do and we are having lots of rain. What a great dog! (Check out the team coats!)
